Kenneth Joseph Byers (born February 20, 1982 in Omaha, Nebraska) is an American professional wrestler, better known as Edgemaster. He is best known for his time in Soul Wrestling Incorporated, where he is a two-time SWI World Champion and a one-time SWI World Tag Team Champion with his kayfabe brother (and real-life cousin) Rainmaster. He also wrestled for Fallout, and served as a trainer for Dwight Gym. Edgemaster is one of the 2016 inductees into the SWI Hall of Fame.

Soul Wrestling IncorporatedEdit

The Master Brothers, World Champion, and Trinity (2005 - 2008)Edit

Edgemaster made his debut in 2004, and signed a contract with Soul Wrestling Incorporated a year later. He was paired with Rainmaster and Soulmaster to form the Master Brothers. Edgemaster and Rainmaster wrestled on the very first show, defeating Ken Williams and Jason Daniels. The two competed in the tag division, winning the SWI World Tag Team Championship on October 5. They lost the titles to The Ministry three weeks later in a street fight. The brothers would continue competing in the tag division from there, with Edgemaster occasionally challenging for the SWI North American Championship throughout 2006.

On December 2, Edgemaster defeated Necrosphere to become #1 contender to Rainmaster's SWI World Championship, with Soulmaster agreeing to be the special guest referee. At Destiny Fulfilled, Edgemaster turned heel by using a low blow and a Sharpest Edge from the top rope to win the SWI World Championship. Edgemaster attempted to get Soulmaster to join him, but Soulmaster refused to have anything to do with his brothers. Edgemaster then retained the title against Rainmaster in a Falls Count Anywhere match at Beginning Anew.

Edgemaster defended the title over the next few months, defeating Perro Loco and Overkill. At Renewal, Edgemaster teamed with Frankie Starr, Arn Allen, and Yoshiro Atoshi to take on SP Robertson, Rainmaster, Overkill, and Perro Loco in the first ever Harbor Cage match. Rainmaster turned on SP during the match, but Edgemaster's team still lost. Edgemaster, Rainmaster, and Frankie attacked SP after the match. On the following episode of Apocalypse, the three revealed themselves as Trinity with Edgemaster's trainer Luthrion joining them. Edgemaster lost the SWI World Championship to SP at Independence, ending his reign at 175 days, the longest reign with the title until Ken Davids broke the record the following year.

Trinity then turned their focus to The Ministry, wanting to purge them from SWI. Trinity defeated The Ministry at Disasterpiece in a match where the losing team had to disband. However, Edgemaster then entered the Versus the World match that night for the World title, and was the first man eliminated. Edgemaster then teamed with Luthrion to face the Party Animals for CK Miles' North American title, but lost at Unholy Confessions. Edgemaster won a battle royal at Betrayal to win an SWI World title shot, but lost his match (also involving SP) when he was pinned by Ken Davids at Kill or Be Killed: The Final Chapter. Edgemaster continued to team with Trinity during the Underground Era, while also challenging for every title in losing efforts.

Feud with Rainmaster (2009)Edit

When SWI returned in 2009, Trinity was set to return with all of its members, but Edgemaster turned on Rainmaster, kicking him out of the group. Trinity defeated Rainmaster and SP Robertson at Beginning Anew: The Rebirth, when Edgemaster pinned Rainmaster. The following month, Rainmaster defeated Edgemaster in a Last Man Standing match at Challenging Adversity, a match which was voted the SWI Match of the Year. During the match, Frankie turned on Edgemaster. Edgemaster and Luthrion then lost to Rainmaster and Frankie Starr at Rise of the Forces.

Edgemaster was one of the five challengers in a Ladder match for the SWI World Championship at Questions Unanswered, but lost when Rainmaster took him out. Edgemaster then defeated Rainmaster in a Steel Cage match two weeks later on Apocalypse, temporarily ending their feud. Edgemaster then defeated Frankie at Renewal. At Broken Chains, Edgemaster defeated Ken Davids by disqualification to become #1 contender to the SWI World Championship, which was held by Rainmaster. At Destiny Fulfilled, Rainmaster defeated Edgemaster in a Loser Leaves SWI match to retain the title. Following the match, the two embraced and Edgemaster was not seen for ten months.

Return, World Champion, and departure (2010 - 2012)Edit

On the November 6, 2010 episode of Apocalypse, Edgemaster made his return, helping Monty James, Blackwolf, Jeffy, and Kennedy Carson fight off the Golden Alliance. The following week, Edgemaster explained that he was brought back to SWI to serve as a mentor to the younger SWI wrestlers and reclaim the SWI World Championship. Edgemaster teamed with Worldwide Truth & Freedom to defeat the Golden Alliance in the second ever Harbor Cage match at Broken Chains. The victory guaranteed Edgemaster a title match against CK Miles. On December 17, Luthrion passed away after a lengthy battle with stomach cancer. Edgemaster reunited with Trinity the following night to defeat CK Miles and the Ministry.

At Destiny Fulfilled, Edgemaster defeated CK to win his second SWI World Championship, having dedicated the match to Luthrion. Before the match, Edgemaster received advice from Luthrion, who was "watching from beyond" (in reality, Luthrion wanted to record some dialogue for Edgemaster a few days before he passed, not expecting to make it). Edgemaster retain the title against CK at Beginning Anew, then against Necrosphere and Ken Davids in a triple threat match at Challenging Adversity. On March 12, Edgemaster tore his quadriceps muscle wrestling Nicholai Ivanov, forcing him to vacate the World title the following week.

Edgemaster made his return on the November 19 episode of Apocalypse, serving as the guest referee for Monty James' World title defense against Thunder Train. Prior to the match, CK and Train warned Edgemaster that Monty was about to surpass the length of his title reign, convincing him to screw Monty out of the title. Edgemaster refused, helping Monty retain the title. Edgemaster served as the guest referee for Monty's title defense at Broken Chains. Edgemaster had his first match since the injury at Destiny Fulfilled, defeating Train to become #1 contender to the SWI World Championship.

Edgemaster once again refereed a World title match; this time, it was a 30 minute Ironman match between CK and Monty, who was starting to suspect Edgemaster as being involved in a conspiracy to keep the World title away from Monty. Edgemaster and CK went to a no-contest at Beginning Anew when Monty attacked both competitors. Edgemaster was then pinned by CK in a World title triple threat match involving Monty at Challenging Adversity. Edgemaster then lost to Monty at Rise of the Forces via referee stoppage.

On August 17, 2012, Edgemaster confirmed his departure from the company, citing burn out and spending time with his family as reasons for doing so. Edgemaster and Rainmaster then made their returns on the December 21, 2013 episode of Apocalypse as a part of the World Champions Panel. He made an appearance at Independence 10, helping XS3 and other former World Champions fight off various SWI wrestlers. On June 11, 2016, he was announced as an inductee into the SWI Hall of Fame Class of 2016.

Edgemaster won a battle royal at an SWI house show on July 18, 2006 to win a contact with Fallout. He made his debut on the July 31 show in an interview with Gary. Edgemaster made his in-ring debut the following week, defeating Matthew Murton. After a loss to Stan H. Johnston, Edgemaster entered a feud with Punished Fox. The match between them never happened, as the feud was quietly abandoned when Fox left the company. Edgemaster then became a worker for Dwight Gym, eventually becoming a trainer in 2007 after SWI's closure.

On September 19, 2008, Edgemaster turned heel and joined forces with Damage Inc. to form Team SWI. Edgemaster led Williams and Daniels to their biggest success, including the Fallout Tag Team Championship, which they held until the company's demise. Team SWI was absorbed into the Corporate Empire before Fallout's permanent cancellation.

Personal lifeEdit

Edgemaster is the real-life cousin of Rainmaster and Soulmaster. Edgemaster married his wife Sarah on November 14, 2007. The couple have two children, Frances Michael (December 4, 2008) and Julian Daniel (May 7, 2011). Edgemaster served as the best man for Rainmaster's wedding, and vice versa.
